Creative Writing -
-There is a template for a "Reflective Writing" assignment that needs to be completed and turned in by Friday.  It is about the Lego project.  Instructions are on the sheet, which is on the homework counter.  Don't forget the journals which are due tomorrow.
-Tomorrow, we begin a descriptive essay process.

2nd Period - Honors English
-Typing day in the computer lab to finish up the Bartleby Response Essays.  Due tomorrow.
-Journals also due tomorrow.

3rd Period - 8th Grade English
- Students spent the day working on the laptops looking for information for their persuasive essay topics.  We will be on the computers again on Thursday.  Tomorrow is the spelling bee information.

4th Period - 7th Grade English
-We continued to read from pages 206 - 209 in the literacy text book.  Copies of the "rat" story from the newspaper article in your text book were passed out for students to try and summarize.  Then we had students check their work against what other students thought was important.  Did you all highlight the same parts of the story?  Why or why not?  Tomorrow, we will be continuing the summarization process after we go through the spelling bee information.

5th Period - 12th Grade English
6th Period - 10th Grade English

-Greek Morphemes are small parts of words handed down to us from the ancient Greeks that have meaning in and of themselves.  Pyro, Ectomy, Naut, Astro, etc.  If you know what the roots of the words mean in the original Greek (and/or Latin) you can dissect the words so they make sense - even if you've never seen them before.
-We'll be doing one of these lists every week, and will just keep a running total.  The goal is to help you with your college entrance exams.
