1st Period - Creative Writing
We went to the computer lab today to work on the personification essay.  Due Friday.  Journals due tomorrow.  Favorite food or a food memory.

2nd Period - Honors:
We discussed the writing assignments you were doing on imagery from page 304 and Ben Johnson's poems.  We then read the love Poem "Song: To Celia" on page 311.  I even sang for the class!!!  The poem was set to music many many years ago.  You are to write a love poem for tomorrow.  Nothing fancy.  We will read them in class together.

3rd Period - 8th grade:
We went to the library for a very informative lesson from Mrs. Kline about internet research resources.  Don't forget the journals and vocab are due tomorrow.

4th Period - 7th Grade:
We practiced summarizing an article I provided about 42 Cambodians who took a bet that they could beat an African lion in open competition.  Then, I passed out an article titled "Norman the Nutria" that students need to summarize as homework.  It's a practice current event.  Due tomorrow in class.

5th Period - 12th Grade:
Students read their Carpe Diem poems to the rest of the class.  Some of these were VERY good and I was quite impressed.  Students are to read Page 297 "No Man is an Island" by John Donne for tomorrow.

6th Period - 10th Grade:
We practiced our spelling words at the start of class.  Then Students reported on their 7 stages of Man essays they wrote.  We began reading the story of Demeter and Persephone on page 969.  We will finish reading this story and begin writing about the two comparitave themes between 7 stages and the different seasons reprsented in the Greek Myth Demeter.  No homework.
